The United States will remember Senator Paul Wellstone for his voice.
He
stood almost alone in calling himself a “liberal” during a time when many
politicians avoided the word.
He
frequently advocated health care for all in the United States, a point of view
with which many disagree.
He
voted against the recent authorization of force to President Bush even though
the vote might have cost him re-election to the U.S. Senate.
Senator
Wellstone took stands in the face of fierce opposition. He spoke his mind with passion and with
conviction. The voters of the United
States should elect more like him.
