National Patient Meeting
Helping Patients Listen
Help patients hear KidneyTalk! while they are on dialysis
or waiting to see the doctor.
To get started, you must have a sound card in your computer. Most computers have
sound cards.
You will know if your computer has a sound card if it makes noises. (If you’re
unsure, ask the person who works on your computer.) If you already have a sound
card in your computer, then you are ahead of the game.
You must then make sure that you have speakers. Some computer monitors have
speakers built-in. If you do not have built-in speakers, you can purchase a pair
(often for $20 or less) from a local store such as Office Depot, Circuit City,
Best Buy, Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, or Fry’s.
Make sure you purchase speakers that have a long enough cord so that your
patients will be able to hear the show.
Next, simply click on the KidneyTalk! link, located on the RSNhope.org home
page, and then follow the instructions. (The faster your Internet connection,
the faster the show will load.)
Now for the most important part... Sit back, listen, and enjoy!
Listeners can phone in or e-mail comments about a particular show or about
living with kidney disease. Listeners also are invited to suggest show topics
and potential guests. Comments can be e-mailed to info@rsnhope.org, and
voicemails can be left at (866) 379-HOPE (4673). Select voicemails will air on
upcoming shows
