Northwest Kidney Centers (NKC)
The NKC began operating in Seattle, WA, in 1962 as the first outpatient dialysis center in the world.  Such nephrology “super stars” as the late Belding Scribner, MD, the father of chronic dialysis, and Christopher R. Blagg, MD, helped pioneer the use of home hemodialysis (HHD) at the NKC.  HHD is still a specialty of the NKC.
